About the White Bull Hotel

We serve superb local and guest ales together with delicious food. Traditional dishes are served in attractive surroundings with an extensive specials board for those who want to treat themselves. The White Bull Hotel is an 18th century stone grade II listed building with a fine pillared entrance and statuesque outlook across a small square at the front and the river to the rear. Ribchester itself has an impressive Roman heritage and is a popular place for a day out. We are situated on the banks of the River Ribble on the site of a Roman fort.

Outside the front door there are four complete Tuscan columns which are thought to have been part of the Roman fort. We have three en-suite double bedrooms available. We also have an extensive children's menu with a beer garden and children’s play area at the rear. There is an impressive view of the Roman Bathhouse from the beer garden.

In the late eighteenth century, The White Bull Hotel functioned as the local court house for many years and one of its rooms was a holding cell.
